Nuclear moon

Nasa is considering a nuclear reactor to power its proposed Moonbase.

Nice design, but since it only generates 40 kilowatts it won't be much use powering laser defence batteries, so i don't imagine that Shado will be very interested.

Moonbase of Moondoggle?

This article by Gregg Easterbrook in Slate is a bit too cynical for my tastes, but it does raise the important question of whether the proposed US moonbase would, like the International Space Station, end up being built merely to justify its own existence.
