This Island Earth (1955)
Sometimes it doesn't even matter whether your planet is the target for
the alien invasion. Interstellar politics being what they
are, you're just as likely to get caught in the middle of somebody
else's war and you find the Earth being conned into helping the
Metaluna war effort. Okay, the defence contract dollars are
pretty good, but the down side comes when the Zahgons incinerate
Metaluna and the survivors show up for a bit of resettlement and
genocide.
