In
America the streets may be paved with gold, but in the future the
streets will be paved with iron-- cast iron, that is, poured directly
from a mobile retort into giant moulds and then embossed with
tasteful patterns. At least, according to this1933 idea.
The only drawback, aside from
that rust thing, will be on cold winter days when the cities
will be littered with school kids with their tongues stuck to the
road. |
