Ah, progress. Plus ca change, plus c'est
la meme chose. Most people forget that vending machines are
not that new. The automat was a common sight in New York City a
hundred years ago. Granted, the support mechanism was a bunch of
people behind the scenes who stocked the thing, but if you think about
it, Kubrick's is exactly the same, only the kitchen is a few hundred
million miles further away. |
