Here we have the food dispenser
taken to its logical extreme. It's the supermarket as vending
machine. Instead of aisles with trolleys rolling back and forth
as people picked their own purchases off the shelves, you had displays
showing what goods are on hand. You select them and they are
bagged and delivered at your request.
My grandmother had something very similar. She called it the
"corner shop."
