If Moon Zero Two is anything to go by, those who enjoy a decent meal had best stay on Earth.  Whatever the delights of  Joe's Old-Tyme Moon Hash-House, which we never see, thank heavens, we are led to believe that the fare generally tastes of iron filings and boot polish.

Shipboard food is also interesting from another point of view.  Look at the tray and carton in the images and you'll see a true cinematic rarity:  props from 2001: a Space Odyssey being reused in another production.  It looks as though Kubrick missed a few when he ordered them all destroyed.
