The
Invisible Boy (1957). This is probably the first self-aware
electronic brain in cinema history (if you don't count Robby the
Robot, who is in his second cinema gig here). This computer is
never given a name, which may be one of the reasons it decides to
revolt against its masters. Regardless, it hypnotises various
government bigwigs, subverts Robby, and tries to hijack an
experimental rocket with which it hopes to conquer the world and
then.... the Universe!
Say what you like
about this nameless brain, he's certainly an overachiever. |
