Here we see the first instance of a robot William
Tell and his faithful dog and rabbit moments before the tragic "apple"
incident.
Actually, Aesop is one of the short stories
that make up Clifford D. Simak's 1952 novel City, wherein the
human race decides that Jupiter would be a jolly good place to live
and leave the Earth to Jenkins the robot and a race of genetically
engineered talking canines who build a society so gaggingly
sentimental that I was rooting for the intelligent ants when they
overran the planet.
I refuse to stoop to making any jokes about
the Earth literally going to the dogs.
