Not
to be outdone by the Anglo-Saxon world, Italy's Dr Ing Firorito
brought to the world the spectacle of Cygan (or Gygan. It
depends who you're talking to). Radio controlled, powered by
lead acid batteries and able to travel and a mind-boggling 10 feet per
minute, Cygan did cut an impressive figure back in 1960, but the big
question on everyone's mind (well, not everyone, but somebody probably
did asked it) was; what the heck is it for?
True, Cygan could
crush beer cans and had a penchant for dancing with redheads, but
then, Big Wilf does that every Saturday down the club.
And he's just about
the same size and weight. |
