Only Walt Disney could attempt to make weather forecasting exciting.  "Attempt" being the operative word, of course.

Eyes in Outer Space (1959) was Uncle Walt's vision of how man in the 21st century would not only predict the weather, but also control it by way of a high-tech assault force right out of Thunderbirds.

At the centre of this is a string of weather satellites that have a certain degree of antique charm courtesy of rotating camera lenses that would have been at home on a television camera circa 1953.

This distinctly retro feature, however, was offset by a command centre back on Earth that would make Dr. Strangelove green with envy.
