In 2001: a Space Odyssey,
Stanley Kubrick threw up his hands and dispensed with wheels, tracks,
treads and pogo sticks in favour of jets to lift his cinematic moonbus
against the feeble pull of the Moon's gravity.
It's a neat little balancing act and is probably a
practical way of getting around the rugged lunar terrain, but the
trouble with moonbuses is that you wait forever for one and then three
turn up. |
