Okay, let's cut to the chase.
Here we are almost a century after this magazine came out and we still don't have a decent death ray. At least in the '20s there were men of vision when it came to thinking up mayhem without a thought for the consequences. Back then it was all giant panels with huge radio valves, knife switches and deadly bird cage contraptions that could lay waste to entire civilisations at a stroke. Okay, maybe it was based on an early experiment with microwaves that some writer picked up and ran with, but it still shows the sort of irresponsible perversion of science that would have made Blofeld proud.
C'mon, mad scientists of the 21st century! Get cracking!
