Futurama '64 Two

Future City > World's Fair City

If the 1939 Futurama could be described as civic planning with a dash of Buck Rogers, then the 1964 Futurama was the last hurrah of the Space Age. It was a time when the this-is-really-what-the-future-will-look-like style could be presented without a trace of irony.

Here is the Futurama II lobby in all of it's '60s glory. Remember, when people walked in here, they did not think of it as a futuristic style of room decor, they really imagined that it would be the future once the workings were tucked in behind the facades.
